The Guide combines an explanation of current legal procedure with practical examples of successful action taken by authorities, as well as steps which can be taken to limit the incidence of fly-posting.

Keep Britain Tidy is the national litter abatement agency funded by government. The campaign is run by ENCAMS, which can provide publications, advice, research and campaign materials to local authorities, the public, businesses or other organisations.

The Local Environmental Quality Survey of England is an annual report measuring the prevalence of flyposting across 10,000 sites. It assesses the condition of the public space and also includes reports on litter, dog fouling, graffit and fly-tipping. It makes comparisons to previous years and recommends improvements. The survey is carried out by ENCAMS which runs the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
