The
Tackling Crime and Disorder Associated
with
Prostitution Initiative was part of the £250m
Crime Reduction Programme announced by
the Home Secretary in 1998. The CRP was
an evidence- led programme that aimed to
reverse the long-term rise in crime by
identifying
the most cost-effective approaches to crime
reduction. Although funding is no longer
available for projects, a copy of the report on research into tackling street prostitution is available online.

Alternatively, the Home Office is currently reviewing the issue of prostitution. Visit www.homeoffice.gov.uk/docs3/paying_the_price.html to find out more.
