THE FEDERATION OF CITY FARMS AND COMMUNITY GARDENS

The Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens is a charity that supports, promotes and represents city farms and community gardens throughout the UK. City farms and community gardens are community-managed projects working with people, animals and plants. They range from tiny wildlife gardens to fruit and vegetable
plots on housing estates or large city farms. They exist mainly in urban areas and are created in response to a lack of access to green space, combined with a desire to encourage strong community relationships and an awareness of gardening and farming.

General information is available on www.farmgarden.org.uk, click on "our links" page for direct links to member farms and gardens that you may be able to support or help. For a database of Federation projects in your area telephone 0117 9231 800 .

LEARNING THROUGH LANDSCAPES

Learning through Landscapes (LTL) campaign for children's right to decent school grounds and help make school grounds better places. LTL believe that many people do not understand the importance of school grounds to children's learning and development. But they are essential, providing unique opportunities for healthy exercise, creative play, and making friends; for learning through doing; for putting children in touch with the natural world.

The LTL website deals with all issues relating to school grounds, and is useful for teachers, governors and local authorities. For more information visit www.ltl.org.uk or phone 01962 846258
