IN BLOOM |
Organised by the Royal Horticultural
Society (RHS), Britain in Bloom has grown into
the largest horticultural campaign in Europe. Every
year, hundreds of communities are involved, from
tiny rural villages to the largest cities, all
bringing a great deal of horticultural skill and
huge enthusiasm to one common aim: to regenerate
local
environments, both locally and nationally, by the imaginative planting
of trees and shrubs, flowers and landscaping and by dealing with local
environmental issues, such as litter, graffiti and vandalism.

competition and for more details of the campaign

| LEARNING
THROUGH LANDSCAPES |
Learning through Landscapes (LTL)
campaign for children's right to decent school
grounds and help make school grounds better places.
LTL believe that many people do not understand
the importance of school grounds to children's
learning and development. But they are essential,
providing unique opportunities for healthy exercise,
creative play, and making friends; for learning
through doing; for putting children in touch with
the natural world. The LTL website deals with all
issues relating to school grounds, and is useful
for teachers, governors and local authorities.
