TOGETHER CAMPAIGN

Launched
by the Anti-Social Behaviour Unit of the Home
Office, the TOGETHER campaign aims to get tough
on anti-social behaviour such as abandoned vehicles.
An ActionLine is available every weekday on 0870
220 2000, to provide information, and to discuss
solutions and best practice to help practitioners
tackle anti-social behaviour throughout England
and Wales.

WHY SHOULD I? |
An educational
resource provided to schools by Crimestoppers.
The resource pack focuses on crime-related issues
that affect young people, and can be used as
part of the citizenship curriculum. Pupils are
encouraged to think about issues such as graffiti,
the impact it makes on residents and the cost
of crime in their surrounding area. Crimestoppers

BTCV AND GREEN GYMS
|
The British
Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) specialises
in working with people, especially volunteers
within their communities, to bring about positive
environmental change. In the early years, BTCV
developed volunteering as a means to achieve
an environmental goal; now conservation volunteering
is also becoming a focus for the achievement
of wider social goals tackling social exclusion
and encouraging personal development and lifelong

THE FEDERATION OF CITY
FARMS AND COMMUNITY GARDENS
|
The
Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens
is a charity that supports, promotes and represents
city farms and community gardens throughout the
UK.
City farms and community gardens are community-managed
projects working with people, animals and plants.
They range from tiny wildlife gardens to fruit
and vegetable plots on housing estates or large
city farms. They exist mainly in urban areas and
are created in response to a lack of access to
green space, combined with a desire to encourage
strong community relationships and an awareness
of gardening and farming. General information is

ADOPT-A-BEACH |
Adopt-a-Beach
is a coastal marine initiative organised by the
Marine Conservation Society (MCS). It encourages
local people, groups or whole communities to
become involved in caring for their immediate
coastline or local beach. MCS aims to achieve
a quantifiable reduction in the amount of litter
in rivers and seas around the UK, thereby enhancing
the quality of our aquatic environments. If you
