THE TOGETHER CAMPAIGN
|
Launched
by the Anti-Social Behaviour Unit of the
Home Office, the TOGETHER campaign aims
to get tough on anti-social behaviour such
as abandoned vehicles. An ActionLine is
available every weekday on 0870 220 2000,
to provide information, and to discuss solutions
and best practice to help practitioners
tackle anti-social behaviour throughout
England and Wales.

OPERATION
CUBIT
|
A
partnership scheme involving local authorities,
the police, fire service and the DVLA. This operation
aims to coordinate the quick and efficient removal
of abandoned and untaxed vehicles from streets
and other areas. Operation Cubit encourages voluntary
re-licensing and discourages vehicle abandonment.
It has succeeded in disrupting criminal activity
and reducing incidents of vehicle arson and has
improved the quality of life for residents who
had previously been blighted by abandoned vehicles.

CRIME CONCERN |
A range of publications for
the public giving advice on how they can tackle
specific issues such as abandoned vehicles. Crime
Concern aims to empower people to take action
and to reduce the fear of crime and crime itself
at a local level. It also provides information
on the Crime and Disorder Act.

KEEP BRITAIN TIDY
|
Keep
Britain Tidy is the national litter abatement
agency funded by government. The campaign is
run by ENCAMS, which can provide publications,
advice, research and campaign materials to local
authorities, the public, businesses or other
