English Heritage is funded in
part by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport
(DCMS) and in part from revenue earned from their
historic properties. It works in partnership to
conserve and enhance the historic environment,
broaden access and increase people's understanding
of the past. It maintains a register of England's
most significant historic buildings, monuments
and landscapes including a photo archive and cares
for over 400 historic buildings on behalf of the
nation. It also administers grants and has learning
resources for teachers and others.

FARMS AND COMMUNITY GARDENS |
Promotes
and represents city farms and community gardens
throughout the UK.City farms and community gardens
are community-managed projects working with people,
animals and plants. They range from tiny wildlife
gardens to fruit and vegetable plots on housing
estates or large city farms. They exist mainly
in urban areas and are created in response to
a lack of access to green space, combined with
a desire to encourage strong community relationships
and an awareness of gardening and farming.

THE
WILDLIFE TRUSTS

The Wildlife
Trusts partnership is the UK’s leading
conservation charity exclusively dedicated to
wildlife. Its network of 47 local Wildlife Trusts,
alongside a junior branch, Wildlife Watch, work
together to protect wildlife in the countryside.
The Wildlife Trusts care for over 2,560 nature
reserves, from rugged coastline to rural wildlife
