SCRUB-IT

partnership between the Home Office, Crimestoppers,
Network Rail, London Underground and the
British Transport Police. Scrub-it is part
of the 'Together' campaign and is an anti-graffiti
initiative designed to identify and prosecute
graffiti 'taggers'. It aims to provide a
national database of graffiti practitioners
to aid prosecution cases, and gives advice
and support on graffiti removal. There are
also details of the Taking a Stand awards
and how you can get involved.

Neighbourhood Renewal Unit for community
wardens to use locally. It is a toolbox
which contains all the materials needed
to conduct a clean up of graffiti in a local
area, however it cannot be used without
the appropriate training. The kits are only
available to warden teams.

THE
CAMPAIGN TO PROTECT RURAL ENGLAND (CPRE)

CPRE
are an organisation that campaigns to protect
and enhance the countryside for the benefit of
everyone. As well as highlighting problems and
threats to the countryside, they carry out research,
canvass opinion and advocate solutions. CPRE
seek to influence policy makers and opinion formers
at every level and often work in partnership
with other local and national bodies. They have

FOOD LITTER |
A
voluntary Code of Practice has been drafted in
conjunction with the fast food industry to try
to cut down on the prevalence of this type of
litter. The document enables local authorities
to support members of the fast food industry,
by providing practical and strategic measures
to reduce waste and litter.

NSCA is the environmental protection charity
that brings together organisations across the
public, private and voluntary sectors to promote
a balanced and innovative approach to understanding
and solving environmental problems. NSCA is both
active and influential in the fields of air quality,
noise, land quality, local environment management,
and industrial regulation. It offers consultancy,
events, training, public information and teaching
packs. NSCA organises Noise Action Day each year
to raise awareness of noise pollution. Schools
all over the country take part in a wide range
of events, including a Sound Survey.

NOISE ASSOCIATION |
The
United Kingdom Noise Association (UKNA) is
an independently-funded organisation which
brings together a unique coalition of key organisations
lobbying on different aspects of noise, including
traffic noise and neighbourhood noise. Their
objective is to work to improve the noise climate
across the UK. UKNA does not give detailed
advice on individual cases, but their briefing
sheets aim to assist both noise sufferers and
noise campaigners.
